"Third Eye"

Image
While visiting a reptile store(one of my newest fav pastimes)I spotted a huge iguana closing his eyes while a customer stroked his head.  "If lizards PURRED he'd be making that sound right now!" I mentioned. "For sure!" the guy in the faded hoody laughed."Sometimes I come in here just to see her. She is actually a female." "Obviously I am new to reptilian ownership, " I explained. "I still can't tell the difference". He laughed again and told me they were addicting creatures. Later, at home, I decided to try the patting the head  trick with Jessie's lizard "Buddy" who I call Kevin Bacon---cuz I'm a child of the 80's. "Mom, did you know when you pet a bearded dragon on the head like that you might be causing him pain?" "But he is closing his eyes and looks like he is enjoying it!" "Mom, that is a common mistake. I did some research and bearded dragons have a third eye on ...

Angel

Last week on Mother's Day I awoke at 4 am and started urinating straight blood. The rest of the week was "hard". In the last month I have been in the ER twice peeing straight blood. I have either a defective bladder sling, hidden kidney stones, kidney infections or all of the above! In the middle of everything, my beautiful daughter Alyssa sent  a portable angel of healing and I was so grateful! It reminded me of a dream I had many years ago about a different "angel". It made me realize that many situations in life come around full circle. The person you maybe helping today ie: your kids, might be the person helping in your tomorrows! July 22, 2020 "When one of our children was young, she suffered from Tourette’s. She not only had auditory and visual tics, but she often threw hour- long tantrums that affected the whole family. We tried a lot of therapy, programs and medications to assist her. Despite all these interventions, it was not until I had a dream t...

Mission return

Yesterday, Dani took me on a tour of her mission in Portland, Oregon. We started with VooDoo doughnuts and being a little bit of a doughnut "snob", I was skeptical until I took my first bite of the pina colada doughnut !!!  I have now determined the last meal I eat in this life will be a pina colada doughnut filled with guava...this is if I do not meet with an accidental death but can plan it somehow...just like I like planning everything else. We took a pic in front of the "Keep Portland Weird" sign and suddenly I knew I had found my tribe. We then visited a couple of her former apartments  and then she said she had a "surprise" to show me called a "Nutria". By this time the rain was coming down like cats and dogs although Dani called it a light "mist" cuz her DNA had switched to amphibian by living in a semi-aquatic Portland environment for 18 months. SO while I was a little reluctant to go snipe hunting after something that sounded l...

DANI MISSION LETTERS

February 2nd, 2021:   I am in a trio again! Whoot!!! We just had transfers and we are in a trio! I am still in the same area with Sister Larsen and Sister Ellertson has joined our companionship! It has been a good week! We have had many good lessons where the spirit was there and many miracles!  We said goodbye to all those leaving the zone this past week and we had a social media training on how to find people through Facebook!  Then, we got to welcome all the new missionaries in the zone last week!  It has been a really good week! I studied humility this past week! I love how it talks about humility as being grateful to God and acknowledging his Hand more in your life! Sometimes I only focus on aligning your will with God's will is being humble! There is more to it we can be humble by showing our thanks to him and giving him the glory for what He has done! Last district  New companionship Jan 5th, 2021: We have had so many busy P-Days! I haven't written in a l...
