Universal Fun

Dear Daddy,
     The same year McDonald's introduced their infamous chicken McNuggets, 1983, you and I headed to Las Vegas and California on a business trip.  We sampled those delectable little nuggets by baptizing them in Sweet and Sour sauce in some out of the way place in Utah. Since Utah is full of little towns between SLC and Vegas, I cannot bring the exact location to mind. I remember having them and thinking, "these are delicious, I may never have one of their burgers again!"
     When we hit Las Vegas, we stayed at a KOA in our van.  There were many unusual cars and campers in that KOA, including a hearse that had been turned into a camper! Figures it was Vegas, the home of the weird and strange.  We also ate at Circus Circus buffet for under 3 bucks! Nowadays they have raised the price to over 12 bucks!
     The auto supply convention in Las Vegas was HUGE! I liked it because I got a free yellow umbrella that advertised spark plugs, or air filters on the outside.
     In California you took me to see the San Juan Capistrano birds. The swallows swarmed all over us and treated us like we were old friends. It was something I will never forget! I remember Universal Studios also. Jaws coming out of the water trying to eat us, the movie set bus tour and you and I starring in a Frankenstein play with full make-up was wonderful!

   Finally, twenty three years later, I returned to Universal Studios. It has changed a lot and has many more displays.  I have included pictures so you can see what they have now!

Here is a pic of Dave and the girls in front of a restaurant at Hogsmeade. It was too expensive so we didnt eat the magical fare.
Here's me with some of the kids at the entrance to Harry Potter world. Lauren and Hyatt had to work so they couldnt make it.

The leaf

Tears have spilled over onto my soggy pillowcase. Their damp, unwanted presence seep into my dream and interrupt my subconscious wanderings. I rub my sleep weary eyes in an attempt to reorient myself in time.  Where am I ? In my last thought I was old and then in the next scene I was young. My body turns and morphs somewhere to an inbetween indeterminate age.  "This is so silly, why can't my body make up it's mind if I'm young, old or somewhere in between?" And then , "Because you are all of those things! You are young, you are old, and not only in between,  you are eternal!" Rain in the desert

It rained last night and there is no better thing to a parched desert floor. Dust swirls up and meets the rain and combines into wondrous mud. Previously dirt-strewn roads are suddenly clean and shiny. Small puddles of mirrored water become impromptu baths for desert fowl or swimming pools for Jessie's tiny toes. I did not miss this delightful morning because I actually had a day off! Going through the papers in Jessie's backpack I am confounded that the pile of notices from the school has mysteriously multiplied overnight. How does this happen? I unfold a pink paper and I realize I am going to miss the Mom's and Muffins again ... working that day too. Dani says " Who's going to help Jessie remember her "dance moves" when she tries out for the talent show? Aren't you working that day too?"
