Liberty

Some people do not like their in-laws. I kinda like mine. Mainly they are fascinating to talk to, well-read and up on current events. I have shied away from disclosing to them that I am not of a Republican persuasion,but that for years I have taken each political persons agenda, picked it apart and scrutinized my choices before voting.  I was surprised to hear they were the same way and were annoyed with those who voted a purely democratic or republican. I have been reviewing the constitution with Jess this year and I adore our founding fathers! These dudes were no nonsense fellows with a clear goal in mind.The day to day preservation of basic human liberty!  They did not agree on everything,but they were dears!  My in-laws called them statesmen and said even back then they warned of the day when political offices might be bought with money!  How right they were!
I found my 13-year old was always present in the room,  along with Jess moving constantly around, but still listening to our conversations. These two have always liked "grown up on blabber ". Dani said she likes following grandpa around because "he says fun things". "He had to take the trampoline apart three times, and I would have been getting mad,but he just kept laughing and making jokes!" "Im lucky because my other grandpa is funny too! That's why I follow the grandpas around"I like grandma because she likes spy movies just like me! And my other grandma makes toast and cocoa! "
I almost didn't have them come this year because I have been sick, my house has been so dirty even my housekeeper quit, but as  we  saw them pull away from the curb and they weren't even out of site,  Dani said, "I miss them already! "
Spending time with them was the best part of our holiday and our best gift!  Jess said she was glad I was having teeth pulled soon so they would have to come back!

April 18, 2018 Last week sucked. I know some people don't like that word, but then I didn't like last week either so I needed an appropriate descriptive word. To combat the stress, I found myself outside more, craving the wind in my hair and the birds singing their sweet songs of joy in my ears. Being outside is paramount, as I have found over the years that this is how God communicates his love to me.  He sends flowers to brighten my day and mixes his palette of colors in the rays of the rising sun. Editing

I awoke this AM and read my post from yesterday. I was horrified seeing so many grammatical errors and such! I decided I would just have to delete the thing or edit it for my English major comrades comfort. Something changed my mind, however, and I am forever glad. Just as perhaps Picasso created "free" expression in the art world, I am going freely expressive in the world of written prose. If you see a mistake, maybe it is there on purpose...leave it be. Just as I have learned to have a messy house, accept that my kids have learning disabilities, and that these wrinkles on my face are not going away, I am branching out into this. The fear of making grammatical errors has kept from writing in the past so...I am just letting that go and writing focusing on emotion instead of technicality . So there. Liberty
