October 29
How has your week been? If you have seasons where you are serving I hope you've enjoyed the cooler weather. If you are in a desert like Vegas, then you are enjoying this change for sure! I bet many wards had trunk r treats! I did not get to attend ours due to work, but I heard it was great! I didn't end up going to the temple as I've been sick, but I did put everyone's names in five temples . Alphabetical order made it easier to remember your names. I did Elder Arnold, Elder Ball, Sister Budge, Elder LeVangie, Elder Randolph, Elder Rawlings, Elder Wagner, Elder Zygmont. I put your names in Guam, Sydney, Nigeria, Washington DC and some other place in Africa I can't remember.I have been working on breathing a lot this week cuz of season changes and my asthma. I found I would breathe in and out with my patients in labor more cuz it helped me too! Today, though, I left sacrament early to go to the ED. My breathing had gotten more labored and I developed a rash on my face. I am grateful for modern medicine as I feel pretty good after the steroid and benadryl injections.
In the scriptures I have started over and am in Nephi again. A few things that I've enjoyed thinking about again. Lehi is one of my favorite scripture heros. Mainly cuz I might have been tempted to leave Laman and Lemuel behind, but that's not how things worked for Lehi. Our families for all the good and the bad are ours. I forgot that Lehi named a river after Lemuel and a valley after Laman. There is no river Nephi or valley of Sam. Like the tale of the prodigal son, I bet he would've killed the fattest calf and given his best rings too to his wayward sons! My family was not without conflict growing up. One time I was so worried about some actions of my siblings I did not sleep for two nights. I was being set apart as Mia maid secretary and Larry Burbank, our 2nd counselor in the bishopric, gave me an incredible blessing. In addition to being set apart, he said something about the Lord knowing how worried I was about my family. Then he blessed me I would see the day all my siblings and my parents would be together in the temple. I scarce believed it as did my mom- not knowing for sure if that would ever happen. It seemed so incredulous and not even possible. Well, fast forward 38 years!!!Right before COVID, Feb. 29, 2020 my youngest sis got sealed to her family in the Twin Falls temple. Her husband was a former meth addict. Her son had spent a lot of time in the NICU and was born at just over 1 pounds. There they were, being sealed at the altar and were surrounded by ALL of my siblings and my parents. It was a moment. Maybe it will take alot more time than 38 years for Laman and Lemuel, but I have the feeling Lehi is still naming valleys and rivers in their favor. They're have to be some pretty incredible landmarks in heaven! We just never know when someone might turn around!
I hope you have an awesome week and remember your families are praying and thinking of you often, and your ward family too!
Sincerely,
Sis. Budge
